Colin Huehns is a musician and scholar.

1) Performance and research into Chinese and Mongolian bowed instruments: the erhu and horsehead fiddle families.

Colin Huehns was born in London in 1966. He read Music at Cambridge University (King's College) and has also studied at the Royal Academy of Music and the Xi'an Music Conservatoire and Hohhot Fine Arts College in China. He was awarded a PhD by Cambridge University for a thesis Music in Northern Pakistan in 1992. From 1993 to 1996 he held a British Academy Research Fellowship at Cambridge University and a concurrent Research Fellowship at Robinson College. He is currently a Lecturer in the Academic Studies Department of the Royal Academy of Music and was awarded an ARAM in 2001.
